Let’s face it, ostomy supplies aren’t something most people think about. Unless you need them. Then they’re pretty important. When St. John’s, Newfoundland based business man Phil Rondeau had to have an ileostomy in 1997 he quickly discovered that there wasn’t a device on the market that would help him empty his ostomy pouch quickly and thoroughly. They say necessity is the mother of invention and that’s certainly the case with Phil. He invented the One Pass Ostomy Draining Device (OPODD) and they’re now available to purchase online.
OPODD had a site when they came to us for a website redesign but it was out of date and didn’t represent the innovative product as it should. It was almost impossible to place an order from a mobile device. The old design also lent itself to trust and authority issues as customers are less likely to trust an outdated website. They needed a modern and professional facelift as well as improved eCommerce capabilities.
We knew right away that Shopify would be the right solution. We developed a responsive site that put the focus on the lifestyle benefits of using OPODD as well as easy ordering on Shopify’s ecommerce platform.
With integrated analytics the company can now track their most important information, fulfil orders quickly, and keep the relationship with their customers going so that they never find themselves without a device at hand.
